For DJ, Molly Goldberg, (Molly Mollz to her contemporaries) the call to the dance music scene came at the tender age of eleven years. Her journey into the abyss came not by the baby-steps common of beginners, but by emulating the progressive and trance sounds and complex technical abilities of the infamous Global Underground DJ’s.
At age eighteen, Molly’s sound continued to evolve and she compiled her first mix compilation of tech-house, minimal, techno, and the thick, energetic bass lines her sets are known for today. The project had a single goal – to deliver a solid representation of her style and technical abilities to promoters and club owners in her home town of Columbus, Ohio. The effort paid substantial dividends and Molly found herself both playing and planning successful events at venues throughout Columbus including; The Red Zone, Long Street Entertainment District and Global Nightclub and The Carlisle Club
Throughout her early performances, Molly continued to study the disciplines of genre-founding-DJ’s like Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Sasha, and Digweed. Her hard work and relentless pursuit of technical proficiency was rewarded in 2006 when she began dual residencies at the Columbus standard – Sugar Bar. Her Thursday night party became a consistent source for quality electronic music & talent
These days, you’ll find Molly and her infectious mix of hard-driving, tech-infused house in any number of parties and events throughout the East Coast. Additionally, word has reached venues beyond her hometown as Molly’s schedule includes forthcoming dates in New York City, Miami, Chicago, Ibiza, and a guest spot on Resident Nation – the preeminent cable music mix show
Molly’s reach will continue to grow through domestic and international tours planned in late 2011 and through original works of her own. Wherever the party may lead her, you’ll find Molly living by a simple credo, one that sums her passion and abilities best: “…If music is your life and clubbing is your religion, get down on your knees and feed the addiction.” We couldn’t agree more.
See you on the dance floor!
