Keeping progressive underground electronic music alive since 2005.
Ashae's (pronounced- 'ashai' or 'a-shy') love for electronic music spans back to the time when she was only nine years old, upon first hearing the epic trance single ' For an Angel' by German DJ/Producer Paul van Dyk aired on Canadian airwaves. Growing up her tastes expanded from trance to house music and by the time she was 16 had learned how to produce in high school. After coming to university she began to DJ in clubs and lounges in Peterborough and Toronto. It was here that she also got her first experiences in radio at Trent Radio where she dedicated endless saturday nights hosting her popular Electronika Sessions bringing fresh new undergrounds sounds from around the world to life.
Influences include Hernan Cattaneo ,Moshic, Deep Mariano mixed with progressive sounds like those from Matt Lange, Nick Warren, and Adam K and Soha. For Ashae, it's the love of chasing feelings through music and so she incorporates a number of breaks and a feeling of deep ambience in her music.
She is also a writer who loves the underground so much that she founded Digital Deep: An online collective of news interviews and stories from DJ's and producers around the world.
Along with that, she hosts a monthly radio show, Digital Deep Sessions, on Fnoob Radio's House channel as a way to bring melodic underground sounds to a fresh and unexposed audience.
Fame and fortune are not the goal for Ashae, who today prides herself as a happy 'bedroom DJ'. The goal is the inspire people to do great things, think deeper and become wiser through intelligently designed electronic music.
