Monica Sharp began her love of music around the age of 8, when she began playing classical piano compositions by ear and composing short piano works on her Casio keyboard.
Raised in a small Pennsylvania town, Monica mostly retreated to music for a lack of better things to do. She grew up listening to Soul, Reggae, Country, Punk, Classical, Early Electronic and Disco genres which results in her diverse and unique taste in music.
At the age of 15 Monica beat out thousands of competitors to win a scholarship to train classically in music. Monica also studied karate for over 6 years winning 4 national medals and dozens of other competitions.
Around the same age, she began to venture into the East Coast rave scene as a street promoter. At the age of 18 Monica began Djing professionally all over the USA mostly playing jungle and house. She received numerous write-ups in local papers and magazines and was breaking barriers as there were not only many female Djs, but even fewer that could mix properly or promote.
2 years later at the age of 20 in 2001 Monica began promoting events such as the infamous “Fuck It!” Parties in Philadelphia known for the “anything
goes” policy. The party boasted local and international talent covering every electronic genre which further strengthened the Philadelphia Scene, and further pushing Monica’s reputation as a “full package” and not just another female Dj. The party then flourished for 4 years, only ending when Monica moved to New York City.
Since that time Monica has returned to college, began touring internationally, volunteering with various charities, has appeared in some Independent films, done a bit of modeling and has a career as a Special Event coordinator for a prominent nightclub in the Chelsea area of New York City.
