BIOGRAPHY

BlackPhyr (pronounced Black-Fire) Hails from the streets of Minneapolis MN. Always having a keen ear for music, she really started to pursue her career in 2003 after her daughter Najah was born. Since then, she has produced 2 mixtapes in her "Land of 10,000 Lyrics" series and is working on the third to release in May 2006. The mixtapes include local artist throughout the Twin Cities like Fiction, GOB, Trama, I Self Devine, Callous, Muja Messiah, Hot Dice, Maria Isa, and The Core.

Her apperances include Gameworks, Escape Ultra Lounge, The Foundation, 7th Street Entry/First Ave, Scratch Academy NYC, Sharx, other various clubs and tons of house parties. She has also toured across the country representing her parent company SubZero Collective as a guest DJ on the National Hip Hop Political Convention in 2004.

Besides being a DJ, she is also a graphic designer with publications all over the Twin Cities. She is a mother of a four year old and is also hopes to be a lawyer as well as a professional DJ.
