DJ Saigon is an up and coming artist with a passion for music. Starting out as an admirer of DJ culture, DJ Saigon soon turned to stepping behind the decks to bring together the sounds of house and techno that she loves. Whether she's spinning deeper soulful grooves or moving into the glitchy, lo-fi sounds, DJ Saigon is always more interested in creating music, rather than just playing tracks by mixing records that sound almost incomplete and merging them live to create a seamless, dense blend of music. Her latest mix, Bubble Glitch, demonstrates her growing interest to move away from typical, West-Coast style house and into the more techno-heavy beats.
Having played at many Seattle venues, such as Bonzai, Contour, Fenix Underground, See Sound Lounge, Aristocrats, Alibi Room, Lulu's, and a residency at Plush Crush (2002), a deep house weekly at The Deep Down Lounge featuring local acts and broadcasting live via KENU Radio, DJ Saigon is building an impressive resume of experience. She has also worked with Seattle legandary DJ's MissKick, Brandy Westmore, and Kristina Childs on Plasmodium Radio, an eclectic internet radio show broadcasting live, every Monday from 4-8PM PST, showcasing everything from hip-hop to techno via http://oseao.com. In the studio she has also been working on Tandem House, an ongoing 2x4 DJ project with Justin Byrnes. Her newest endeavour is performing with Traktor, a MP3 DJ'ing program, off of a laptop.
Influenced by her work in the non-profit world DJ Saigon is frequently spinning at community and fundraising events, using music to both entertain and educate on important social issues, such as Veil, a political fashion show and Ladyfest Seattle, an event focused on empowering women in the arts.
