Daughter of a southern bluesman, Kelle Marie grew up on a steady diet of blues and soul traveling from warehouses and dives to studios with her father from the age of ten all the while being taught the ups and downs of the music industry and the politics of nightlife.
"Kelle Marie has an immense gift for blending sounds and creating fresh sets in a way that's all her own. It's her innate sense of rhythm and a little streak of the wild side that sets each set aglow." - Diva DJ's
This fire behind the decks prompted numerous residencies throughout the Dallas area, several radio shows, and appearances in local music magazines and Web sites.
On top of being one of Dallas' first female dj's, she also helped form a fun, all-girl collective, Suck My Deck, and is a partner in Grin Music.
Currently Kelle can be seen at the Zubar with DeMarkus Lewis on Saturdays. She has a passion for production and has been busy on perfecting solo projects as well as doing collaborations and remix work. She produces under her name as well as the name Housewife, with Ronin as 4 Lumps and with DeMarkus Lewis as Honeymooners. She also collaborates with keyboardist Adam Pickrell a.k.a. "The Milkman" on the occasional deep track.
Kelle has been receiving press in the local newspapers and is featured in The Dallas Morning News Quick newspaper and MSNBC online. She is featured in the cover story as one of Dallas' top five dj's to watch. She was also recently featured in a cover story for The Observer.
