DJ LADY RED LABEL
They say the good ones start young, Lady Red Label (Louise) is proof of that phenomenon. Starting by mixing music at the tender age of 15 at local house parties DJ Lady Red Label was hooked from then on.
In 2000 she moved to France and got her first residency. Together with other DJ’s and MC’s they formed a sound system incorporating various styles of underground urban and dance music. They toured North West France playing bars, festivals, colleges, university parties whilst organising events in the region. On returning to London in 2002, Louise found the West End scene moving more towards mainstream dance and urban styles and further away from underground styles. She consequently broadened her current repertoire to include everything from lounge, classic / soulful / funky / deep /tech house and broken beats, to latin and afro beats, old school soul, funk, and hip hop.
She has since played at a number of exclusive venues in and around London’s West End including: Capisce, Click, The Yacht, Browns, Suga Suga, Pop and Trap. Having completed a 6-month residency in Dubai’s most elegant venue Cavalli club last year, as well as weekly residences in Calabar and Cin Cin, she is currently residing every Friday at Joya Beach as well as alternate Saturdays at Nasimi beach.
She has played alongside Cash Money and Kenny Dope (MAW) at Time Out Dubai's recent 'Time Out Comes Home' festival, and also held a 15-month residency at Park Hyatt’s idyllic venue, The Terrace. Previously, Louise has performed at numerous Dubai events and club venues including: Trilogy, Tangerine, 400 Club, Tamanya Terrace, ‘Qurious’ boat parties, Chi @ The Lodge, Barasti.
Voted into Dubai’s infamous AHLAN HOT 100 this year – 2011, and having been shortlisted by Time Out Dubai as Best Local DJ 2010, her name has featured in line ups with names such as Laurent Garnier, K-Klass (UK), John Course of One Love (Australia), Bobby Friction and Nihal (UK) BBC Radio 1xtra, DJ Deekay (UK) BBC Radio 1xtra, DJ Villeneuve (UK) and Homeboyz (Kenya), Goldfish (South Africa) and Nick Matthews (Best Kept Secret, London UK).
