Rebecca’s beginnings in electronic music stem back to the Midwest in the early 90’s. Formerly known as Rebecca K, she began as a dancer—fueled by the sounds of Chicago, which included frequent sets by Derrick Carter, Terry Mullan, Miles Maeda, Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, DJ Heather, Jevon Jackson, Bad Boy Bill, and Danny the Wildchild to name a few. She was particularly drawn to the Chicago House movement that was thriving. Eventually she began hosting parties as part of Network 10, a production network in Milwaukee and Madison. The parties had amazing Electronic Music, DJ, & Hip Hop talent from all over the world. It was here that she really transformed to become an active part of the dance music scene.
She had played around on turntables, however, upon relocation to Los Angeles, she finally decided to dedicate herself to learn the art of mixing. With the guidance of her mentor Tommy Roldan, she would flourish into a technically skilled DJ. She spent hour after hour on those tables making sure progress was being made. She would get up and spin at 6am before work to get to the highest point of clarity and tap into her natural talent. She would play after work until she had to go to bed again. Often sneaking off on the job to place record orders on the Internet. Two years later she would relocate to New York to advance her music career. She has spent the past year working with various producers on spoken word and original vocal projects. She is not currently DJing and feels that something needs to change to preserve the truth and beauty in the music. She currenly is focusing on original music, vocals, & spoken word as well as other creative and humanitarian interests.
