Early Christmas morning, 1984, a naive 7 year old Sarah Giboney stands, eyes wide in disbelief... she must have been a really good girl this year because Santa Claus has delivered her very own stereo, complete with cassette AND phono!! With the help of her terribly hip mother, a collection of Michael Jackson 45's and Cyndi Lauper LP's followed and is still intact to this day.
Being from small town mid-america it was not until 12 years later that Sarah was properly introduced to the electronic music genre - House music quickly became her prime focus. With a deep-seated love of vinyl, 9 years of formal musical education on the cello, and a promise made to herself to one day master the art of turntable-ism, Sarahplease has made a name for herself in the Kansas City area where she currently resides. She has had the pleasure of performing at numerous bars, clubs, and events in the area and is proud to have shared the decks with the skills of Jonene and Ben Armstrong. Sound and style influences range from favorite DJ/Producers Lance DeSardi and Pat Nice to artists Prince and Elvis Costello. Sarah is a firm believer that timing is everything and is known by those close to her for her set building abilities where each mix leaves you wondering why those two tracks were not written as one to begin with. Always deep, dark, and beautiful - each selection means something special to her, that much is perfectly clear. Sarah is forever looking for new ways to be involved with the music that she loves and those who love the music.
...And for those of you still concerned about the naive 7 year old who still believed in Santa Claus...worry no more. Not long after Christmas that year it was revealed to her Santas' true identity. Her first and only response to her parents was "thanks for the stereo!!" How polite.
