Born and raised in New York City, Miss Bliss is one of a handful of DJs in the city who are pioneering the breakbeat sound. She has held residencies in Atlanta and New York, and has had the pleasure of thrashing soundsystems across the nation and around the world.
Miss Bliss began DJing in LA where she went to college. Upon her return to New York, she organized two weekly strictly-breaks parties in Manhattan, first Sunday School at Liquids, and then Big Apple Breaks at Coal both of which are no longer going on. In addition, she created a website called big-apple-breaks.com that lists NYC's breaks events, and is home to a vibrant New York-centric breaks forum.
Miss Bliss has been featured, reviewed and interviewed in numerous publications including URB (USA), Time Out New York, The Irish News (Derry, Ireland), Nico (Luxembourg), Touch (Hong Kong), and Szene (Germany) among others. She has also written articles that have appeared in underground UK-based breaks 'zine MOFO, club lifestyle portal clubplanet.com, and the global nu skool community's online home, nubreaks.com.
Whether she plays tough or melodic, dark or moody, breaks or house, Miss Bliss throws down like itís nobodyís business! Her sets are consistently danceable and musically compelling. She is currently producing breaks and tech-house in her New York studio and in Dec 2003 released her first track to good reviews.
