I've pointed a fair few fingers at Hospital recently, commercial this and commercial that. Enter Hospitality Drum & Bass 201, eager to listen, eager to wag the finger once more. The finger very quickly retracted in shock and soon came back out with the rest of my entire body for some ridiculous raving.
I'd forgotten the awesome power of Hospital. With two of the years biggest and most controversially euphoric Jump-Up giants, Tap Ho (TC) & My House (Taxman) in the bag, dingy industrial D&B remixes and tracks from new signing S.P.Y, recent game hero Enei, and monsters Phace, Rockwell & Rido bang in the mix as well. Not forgetting some beautiful liquid-esque tracks from some of my all time favourites Calibre, Marcus Intalex & Logistics. Even a remix, that to me is very much commercial, but one of my favourites from last year, Nu:Tone's mighty remix of Emeli Sandé's Heaven.
This album touches almost every corner of drum and bass and, even for the sides that I don't enjoy so much, it does it with talent beyond anything I've seen from a DnB comp in a very long time.
Spread the love...
