With so many 'wishy washy' tracks tagged as Deep House and the overuse of dry loops, Reggie restores the balance by laying foundations and working from the bottom up. The title track 'Child of The Sun', with its minimal approach, springs to life with a deep, acid bassline that drives the track forward until the enlisted piano drapes over the groove in ways reminiscent of the classic early Techno coming out of Detroit. This is no real surprise considering that Reggie's early musical works have often been associated with Transmat and Derrick May. Following on 'Funk Below' floats much in the same vein: equally as soulful but more organic with the use of percussion and dreamy pads. The standout track is surprisingly the 3rd track 'Make Believe'. Even though a more downtempo tune, it builds powerfully - creating tension until the main lead arpeggiates over the warm kicks and ..... Score! This gem will be released on February 13, 2012.
